With summer in full swing, it’s important to take advantage of this great weather by getting outside, staying active and working out. While acquiring the motivation to do so can be challenging on our own,#HipNJ was grateful to have professional trainer Lauren Leonard lend Maria Falzo a helping hand in a variety of different leg workouts.
Lauren started out the workout session with squatting in order to work out the core, quads and glute. In order to do this, Lauren demonstrated how to use a resistance band around Maria’s knees in order to feel a lateral resistance on the sides of her legs. With the ease of being able to do this work out, Lauren said, “This would be a great starting position for most people who haven’t had a consistent lower body workout.”
Along with showing Maria proper technique in the work outs they did, Lauren is also a co-owner of Fitness for Mankind, which is a physical fitness center located in Madison, New Jersey. Through her appearance on the show, she was able to show what her techniques are all about while also explaining why it is important to perform these work outs during this team of year.
“We’re going to go ahead and give you a great lower body workout to ensure that you’re feeling confident and great about yourself for the summer,” said Lauren regarding the timeliness of the work outs the soon followed.
