Most parties seem to have similar appetizers for every summer occasion, while macaroni salad is always a must have it can be tiresome and mundane. On America’s birthday, we found several recipes that will make your dish stand out amongst the basic side dishes.
Ingredients needed are 12 Jalapeño peppers, half of cup of organic goat cheese and shredded organic cheddar cheese, half teaspoon of cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika, a ¼ cup of sliced scallions, with a pinch of salt and pepper. Before you do anything, preheat the oven to 350 degrees then mix together the cheddar, goat cheese, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cut each pepper in half then fill each pepper with the mixture. After spraying the peppers with olive oil, bake for 15-20 minutes then top it off with scallions and it’s ready to go!
This side dish is fast, easy and delicious with all the perfect blends of fruit together this summer salad is a game changer. You’ll need watermelon and strawberries the amount is more of your own personal choice, just make sure the watermelon is cubed and strawberries chopped in half. Next, you need crumbled feta cheese the amount is based on how much fruit you put in. Then add ¼ olive oil or a little more if you’re creating a big salad. For spices add salt, black pepper, and fresh basil, mix it all in a bowl and it’s ready to serve.
For the perfect mojito, you need ice, club soda, 3 tablespoons fresh blueberries, 2 fresh diced strawberries, a handful of mint leaves, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 1 teaspoon granulated sugar, 1 1/2 ounces white rum of your choosing.
Once you muddle all the ingredients wait until the sugar is fully dissolved and the berries have officially broken down add the rum, then ice and finish off with club soda!
This drink is relatively easy to make first you need a 1 cup of sugar, ½ cup of water and crushed ice for the snow cone foundation itself. Use a blender for the ice then create a snowball. For the red coloring, you need 1 cup of strawberries and a ¼ cup of white rum to mix with simple syrup. For the blue simple syrup, you will need ¼ blue curacao with 1 lime.
To make the snow cone itself you will need to mix together the sugar and water in a pan on medium heat. Once boiled, dissolve the sugar and bring down the heat for two minutes. Add half of the simple syrup with the strawberries, after sitting for 60 minutes combine the ingredients with the rum in a blender then pour over one side of the snow cone. Next, add the remaining syrup with the blue curacao and the lime then pour it on the other side.
