Sounds of Summer: The Do Rights
80 Sculptors Way Hamilton
Enjoy live melodies as part of the sculpture park’s Sounds of Summer music series. With soulful vocals, robust horns, and a tight rhythm section groove, The Do-Rights blend old school sounds with original and contemporary influences like Fela Kuti, James Brown, and other afrobeat and traditional funk artists. Formed in New Brunswick in 2010 and on a regular rotation at live music venues in central New Jersey and beyond, all members come from different musical backgrounds, from reggae to touring indie-soul bands, to jazz – elements quite alive in their energetic, original music and style.
The evening begins on the patio at Rat’s Restaurant for a happy hour reception with appetizers and cocktails. Then we’ll take a private docent tour of the sculpture park, which features a constantly evolving collection of contemporary outdoor works, before seeing The Do-Rights perform. After the show, stick around with other park guests for a meet and greet with the band.
