#HipNJ’s Lisa Marie Latino attended the celebration of The Walsh Company’s relaunch in Morristown and sat down with its founder & president, Ed Walsh.
The brand-new showroom, which houses the company’s general contracting and project management teams, showcases Walsh’s newest venture – PoE Lighting, which stands for “power over ethernet.” This PoE Lighting display is the only of its kind in New York and New Jersey.
Walsh jumped into the idea of branching out into PoE Lighting after an invitation from his friend to check out what is was. As soon as he saw how it worked, he knew he could make a great change.
His inspiration came to life when he visited his father in a senior living home and experienced the poor lighting that was there. Walsh realized that lighting is an essential key to life because it makes people more comfortable. PoE lighting is paving the way for better lighting in the future.
Beyond lighting, Walsh has had a big impact on the Garden State landscape. He has worked with major headquarters such as Panasonic, BASF, and Commvolt. During these projects, Walsh worked with these companies in every aspect from construction, hiring the architect, to even installing the furniture.
Besides being involved with major headquarters, Walsh has also helped local charities including Interfaith Food Pantry and Family Services of Morris County by constructing new buildings for them.
Over the past fifteen years, Walsh has worked endless hours to see his business bloom.
Wife Lynn Walsh attended the celebration stating, “I am proud of my husband [and] all the hard work, his vision is here at Walsh PoE lighting”
