Tomorrow, thousands of people will make a mad dash into the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Seaside Heights, and it’s all for a great cause. EarthCam will be livestreaming the annual Polar Bear Plunge, and you can be a part of it!
The Polar Bear Plunge is held each year to raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey, a non-profit organization that provides free year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than 25,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities. Last year, nearly 7,000 swimmers took to the icy waters and raised more than $1.9 million, setting a new Polar Bear Plunge Record.
